This is a timeline list and contains films not in Fast & Furious series that connect the entire franchise together. Warning: May contain spoilers.

  1. Better Luck Tomorrow (2002): A group of over-achieving Asian-American high school seniors enjoy a power trip when they dip into extra-curricular criminal activities. This is a film by Justin Lin where the character Han Lue (played by Sung Kang) first appears.
  2. The Fast and the Furious (2001): Los Angeles police officer Brian O'Conner must decide where his loyalty really lies when he becomes enamored with the street racing world he has been sent undercover to destroy. This movie introduces the characters from the Fast and the Furious series including Brian O'Conner, Dominic and Mia Toretto and Letty.
  3. Turbo Charged Prelude to 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003): Taking place after The Fast and The Furious, Brian O'Connor tries to evade the law, which leads up to the events of 2 Fast 2 Furious.
  4. 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003): Former cop Brian O'Conner is called upon to bust a dangerous criminal and he recruits the help of a former childhood friend and street racer who has a chance to redeem himself. This film is missing the majority of the cast from the first film. It adds Tej (Ludacris) and Roman Pierce (Tyrese) to the series.
  5. Los Bandoleros (2009): This is a short film which is a prequel to Fast and Furious involving the fugitive ex-convict Dom assembling his crew in the Dominican Republic to plan a hijacking of a road train gasoline tanker truck. The movie bridges the gap between The Fast and the Furious (2001) and Fast & Furious (2009) explaining the origin story of how Han met Dominic and what Dom and Letty were doing during 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003). It also introduces the characters Tego Leo (Tego Calderon) and Santos (Don Omar).
  6. Fast & Furious (2009): Brian O'Conner, back working for the FBI in Los Angeles, teams up with Dominic Toretto to bring down a heroin importer by infiltrating his operation. In this Justin Lin film, Brian is a cop again but Dom and the rest of the team are wanted, so they go their separate ways. Han says he heard some interesting things are going on in Tokyo. Letty tells Dom that she heard Rio is good this time of year but Dom goes to Rio without Letty, leaving her behind in the Dominican Republic. Letty gets killed while working undercover for Brian to clear Dom's name. Brian and Dom work together to avenge Letty's death, but in the end, Dom is arrested and sent to jail. The film ends with Dom on a prison bus that is surrounded by fast cars, being driven by Brian, Mia, Tego and Santos.
  7. Fast Five (2011): Dominic Toretto and his crew of street racers plan a massive heist to buy their freedom while in the sights of a powerful Brazilian drug lord and a dangerous federal agent. This film starts Fast & Furious (2009) left off with the crew helping Dom escape from the prison bus before they all take off to Rio. This movie adds Hobbs to the mix and unites Roman and Tej with the rest of the crew. Even Vince returns from The Fast and the Furious (2001). It ends with everyone going their separate ways again. Gisele (Gal Gadot) and Han go to Berlin and later maybe to Madrid. Gisele mentions that she though Han wanted to go to Tokyo, but he says "We'll get there eventually". Roman and Tej go back to California, Tego and Santos stay in Rio and lose all their money. Dom, a pregnant Mia and Brian hide out together. Hobbs and Monica Fuentes (from 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)) discover that Letty is still alive.
  8. Fast & Furious 6 (2013): Hobbs has Dominic and Brian reassemble their crew to take down a team of mercenaries: Dominic unexpectedly gets sidetracked with facing his presumed deceased girlfriend, Letty, who lost her memory and is working for a bad guy named Owen Shaw (Luke Evans). In the end, Letty gets her memory back and Dominick. Hobb lets everyone go free for helping him. Gisele doesn't make it so Han decides it's finally time to go to Tokyo. Brian and Mia have the baby. Dom says goodbye to the cop, Elena (Elsa Pataky), who he was hooking up with when he thought Letty was dead. The last scene is from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) showing that Han's eventual accident wasn't so accidental and introduces Shaw's brother Deckard, played by Jason Statham.
  9. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006): A teenager becomes a major competitor in the world of drift racing after moving in with his father in Tokyo to avoid a jail sentence in America. This movie is Justin Lin's first film in the series. Han finally makes it to Tokyo and gets killed.
  10. Furious 7 (2015): Dominic and his crew thought they'd left the criminal mercenary life behind. They'd defeated international terrorist Owen Shaw and went their separate ways. But now, Shaw's brother, Deckard Shaw, is out killing the crew one by one for revenge. Worse, a Somalian terrorist called Jakarde and a shady government official called "Mr. Nobody" are both competing to steal a computer terrorism program called "God's Eye," that can turn any technological device into a weapon. Torretto must reconvene with his team to stop Shaw and retrieve the God's Eye program while caught in a power struggle between the terrorist and the United States government. This movie says goodby to Han, introduces Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel) to the crew, sees Letty get her memory back and ends Brian riding with the team in favor of family.
  11. The Fate of the Furious (2017): When a mysterious woman seduces Dominic Toretto into the world of terrorism and a betrayal of those closest to him, the crew face trials that will test them as never before. In this film, after going to jail, Hobbs and Shaw reluctantly join forces with the remainder of Dom's team to track down their mutual enemy, Cypher.
  12. F9 (2021): Cypher enlists the help of Jakob, Dom's younger brother to take revenge on Dom and his team.

  • Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019): Lawman Luke Hobbs (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) and outcast Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) form an unlikely alliance when a cyber-genetically enhanced villain threatens the future of humanity.
