Drive, He Said (1971)
It's a tale of two college roommates rebelling against their drafts. Hector is dreading a bright future in the NBA and bristling against what is expected of him as a collegiate star by his Coach. Gabriel is facing a draft into the Army and a life (and potential death) that is opposed to all his values. It is a chaotic story from a chaotic time of two immature men and the impacts they have on those around them. It exists in the Nicholson cinematic universe between "Five Easy Pieces," and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and filmed in many of the same locations as those films and "Animal House."
