Remake of Micheaux's 1924 Silent Film. The movie tells the story of a White man who took an interest in a young colored youth, took him into his home and tried to give him every advantage that a white boy would have. As the story takes place in a small Southern town, quite a bit of talk was caused. Then the boy wanted to marry Ethel Moses, and the white man tried to stop it" — review in the Philadelphia Afro-American, 3/11/39

Release Date: March 11, 1939 (USA) | Length: 10 reels/74 min | Genre: Drama | MPAA Rating: NR | Note(s): IMDB and Wikipedia have the films release date as 1938. I based my date on a review I found in the Philadelphia Afro-American, written when the film premiered there. Remake of Oscar Micheaux's 1924 silent film of the same name. Cast list is from the film. IMDB credits Laura Bowman as being in the film but she has no character name and is not listed in the films cast list. I wasn't able to identify John Ward, C.R. Chase, H.E. Knight, Harry Moses, Columbus Jackson or Robert Alderdice.
